Show Up!

Our programs are tailored to respond to your organization’s specific needs, and we propel your people to unlock their full potential.

We help grow and maximize your employees’ potential by educating, guiding, and inspiring them to intentionally bring their best selves—“show up”—to work. This ultimately empowers employees at every level to be exceptional leaders, to effectively represent your organization to help achieve its mission, and to achieve desired results.

ShowUp! corporate trainings and workshops are tailored to meet the unique needs of your employees, your organization and your GOALS. No matter the session, trainings always integrate positive, forward-thinking best practices that participants can immediately put to work in their day-to-day. Where appropriate we use an array of questionnaires and 360 assessment tools to increase participant self-awareness and pinpoint opportunities for targeted growth and development.

Your employees will feel empowered and ready to sharpen their leadership acumen, strengthen their personal brands or elevate their executive presence starting right away. That means employees that are smarter and more strategic, are more engaged and come to the table with a more powerful presence.

TRACK 1

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Leadership abilities are for professionals of all types, yet most academic training focuses on technical “hard skills” at the expense of essential “soft skills” such as leadership. This track helps fill that gap by providing leaders with the training and tools needed to take their leadership skills to the next level. The track focuses on supporting new managers and aspiring leaders but can also serve as a refresher for seasoned leaders.

Exceptional Leadership: Challenging the Status Quo
Creating a Culture of High Performing Leaders: Building a Team and Trust
Developing a CEO Mindset: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
Empathetic Leadership: Expand Your Emotional Intelligence

In this course, we explore what’s required of an exceptional leader and explore 5 Essentials of Your Leadership DNA.

Participants are guided to analyze their team’s composition, identify actions needed to get teams performing at their highest level, explore how leaders can contribute to high-performers’ growth or potentially hold them back, and dive deep into the topic of trust.

During this course, we challenge participants to begin thinking bigger and more strategically—and bring that mindset to their role as “CEO” of their current team.

This course develops managers’ awareness and skills to transform them into leaders who clearly understand and integrate empathy as the building block for strong relationships.

TRACK 2

PERSONAL BRANDING

When you see the iconic Starbucks mermaid or McDonald’s golden arches, you immediately associate them with their respective corporate brands. Similarly, a memorable and effective personal brand is essential for professionals to set themselves apart and build their reputation. The courses in this track focus on building, and refining, participants’ personal brands off- and online to achieve results.

The session focuses on a multi-step process to discover and discriminate participants’ brand by identifying core attributes and unique selling points —(USPs)— and then putting it all together by drafting and learning how to deliver their personal brand “elevator pitch.”

Participants discover how to make a strong LinkedIn first impression and also become familiar with key sections of a profile to understand what is required to have a “stellar” profile, which every employee should be striving to achieve.

This session is designed to execute immediate strategies for participants to level up their LinkedIn brands in terms of elevating their visibility and exposure, growing their professional network, enhancing relationships and strategically positioning themselves as thought leaders in their fields.

Participants respond to a series of probing questions and engage in activities to help trigger ideas for their personal brand stories and choose one story concept to develop during the remainder of the session. By the end of the session, participants have a draft story created and a chance to practice it with their peers as the audience.

EXECUTIVE PRESENCE

Think of a leader you admire: They likely have that difficult-to-define quality of “executive presence” that immediately sets them apart from the crowd. This five-course track provides employees—from entry-level to current and aspiring leaders—with concrete tools and hands-on practice to understand executive presence and project it in their day-to-day work.

Participants are introduced to the ShowUp! Results-Driven Frameworkℱ, a framework to support the achievement of desired professional outcomes, and receive practical tactics and techniques to develop their executive presence.

During this session, participants learn about the communication process, barriers to communication, types of communication, the key elements to effective communication and a host of other fundamentals.

This hands-on session is designed to equip current and aspiring leaders with the advanced communication skills needed to execute their organization’s mission and vision, to achieve their goals and objectives, and to build their teams and culture.

During this course, participants will learn everything from developing, to preparing for, and delivering a presentation.

During this course, participants are guided through each course of an actual five- or six-course meal* to learn practical tips to survive more formal dining settings and handle common situations.

During this session, participants will learn how to develop 7 Behaviors of Likeable Leaders. In addition to examining each behavior in detail to unearth what it looks like, what it doesn’t look like, and specific ways to exhibit the behavior, participants will have the opportunity to practice activating their likeability skills during the session.

STRATEGIC STYLE

Like it or not, your first impression matters a lot, and it’s difficult to change the tone you have set after the fact. This track looks at how to dress for the job you want (not the one you have) and how to make good first impressions—and second ones, and so on—by dressing like a leader.

We examine key research surrounding the influence of dress and appearance on first impressions and perceptions. Participants are then led through a discussion around the direct correlation between professional dress and appearance and their personal brand. Finally, we’ll delve into five potential dress and appearance derailers.

Participants learn how to dress for clout, confidence, and credibility and are introduced to a level-of- dress scale and learn the garment style and design nuances associated with each level—and, more importantly, what message they are communicating when dressed at that level. Participants learn about key for creating  dynamic outfits. We’ll bring a rack of clothes to demonstrate how to mix and max to maximize their wardrobe.

Annette is a true professional and very well known in her industry. I met Annette several years ago at a women’s conference. I enjoyed listening to her presentation and I felt connected with her. I reached out to her recently to come speak to the managers at my hotel about Professional Dress for Leadership Success. She was very engaging and did her homework as to what is important to the Marriott Brand as well as the environment in our hotel. The team really enjoyed the presentation and got some great take aways to implement in their daily routine. I would recommend Annette as a speaker to enhance employee satisfaction in the workplace.

Annette Harris’ Power Up Your Personal Brand half-day training session was amazing and I would definitely invite ShowUp! back. Her session scored a 4.9 out of 5 in each of our corporate training program evaluation areas. According to one participant, ‘this program is so good it stands on its own; great for this department and should be for all employees

Recently, I had Annette conduct a workshop with a group of CEOs and business owners. They all raved about her ability to raise their level of awareness on executive presence and image, and how she educated them on its importance in business. The best part was the number of solid take-aways she gave them that they could immediately implement and use to enhance their brand. I am definitely planning to bring her back to talk to another group of CEOs and business owners.
